Answers to the New Practical Chinese Reader 1 Workbook. Lessons 1 thru 9 If you have not added any “pinyin” fonts to your Windows fonts folder, you might not be able to read the words written in pinyin correctly. With this in mind, in order to enable the student to read these answers from any computer, we have decided to indicate the tone of each syllable by adding tone numbers behind them.
