Among progressive reading books to study Chinese, “Rapid Literacy in Chinese” has perhaps the most professional layout. In it we are taught 750 characters, which are used to form 25 sentences with all the characters studied, all this backed up, of course, by a fair amount of repetition. Moreover, the book combines the same characters to form new words and new texts.
The beginner student can use this book to learn to read Chinese, and listen to our recordings to assimilate the contents. Meanwhile, the more advanced student can use these recordings as dictations, knowing that if she/he is capable of writing everything he hears, she/he will have mastered the writing of 750 fundamental characters.
